What Makes Harford County Unique?

  • Rocks State Park -  Rocks has 855 acres of dense forests and massive boulders rising above Deer Creek. The King and Queen Seat, once a ceremonial gathering place of the Susquehannock Indians, is a natural 190 foot rock outcrop. This cliff, reached by scenic trails, affords a view of the rolling hills and farmland of Harford County. Also preserved on park property are many structural remains from the days when the Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad wound its way through Rocks, helping the farms and quarries of Northern Harford County to prosper.
  • Ripken Stadium -  the stadium is part of Cal Ripken, Jr.'s Aberdeen Complex in his hometown of Aberdeen, Maryland, located just off Interstate 95 at Maryland Route 22. The complex also includes several smaller fields for local youth sports leagues. The stadium is the closest structure of the complex to the highway, with the right field fence and scoreboard visible from it. The stadium also hosts soccer matches as well.
  • Bel Air - located in the “Heart of Harford,” is the County Seat, presenting visitors big-city convenience in a small town package. Picturesque parks, rambling Victorians, cordial pubs, and charming boutiques welcome visitors off the tree-lined Main Street. Trendy stores, a newly renovated mall, and restaurant chains fuse with evening farmers markets and local craftsman to offer a wide variety of cuisine, gifts, and experiences. The town hums with cultural activity year round. Popular annual events include the Chocolate Festival, the Farm Fair, and the Maryland State BBQ.
